Being Vegan in D.C.
I was recently in D.C. for a conference and was reminded of how much I miss living in a city with a variety of amazing vegan restaurant options. I lived in D.C. a few years ago, so I was excited to go back to some of my favorite spots.
If you are planning a trip to D.C. and want some amazing food that is kind to all, check out some of these hot spots.
My favorite is definitely Busboys and Poets. They now have six locations around the city, and most are easily accessible by metro.
I have never had a bad meal at B&P, but my favorite is the Tempeh Panini. They have an extensive menu of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options.
If you are looking for something sweet, you can’t go wrong with Sticky Fingers. You can take all your non-vegan friends and colleagues to this all-vegan bakery (which twice competed successfully in the TV show Cupcake Wars), and they will never know the difference.
Teaism – With four locations around the D.C. area, Teaism is a great spot for brunch or relaxation.
Of course, if none of these call to you, the Happy Cow site has extensive menu of vegan and vegetarian restaurants to choose from.
